There's an urban legend out there that the A-10's guns are so powerful, that if they could fire continuously (without overheating) for 30 seconds, it would be enough momentum to stop the plane in midair. That's not true, but according to this, the recoil force is over 1/2 that of the craft's total thrust. That's impressive.
