About a month ago, I went to Yongsan with one of my fellow teachers to go camera and lens shopping--she was buying her first dSLR, I needed to replace my dropped kit lens, and, quite frankly, I was really happy to go with someone else who was going to spend a sizable amount of money so I wouldn't feel bad about dropping 700 bucks on the 18-200mm lens I was planning getting. As we approached the i'Park Mall at Yongsan Station, we ended up coming upon an urban snowboarding run being set up down the stairs out front ("2009 Salomon Street Session", the signs proclaimed). I've seen these events done before by Red Bull on campus with ramps that they bring in, but anyone who's ever seen the stairs at Yongsan know that there are quite a few of them, and were made just for this purpose. And if they weren't, they should have been.
Lots more pictures after the break.
When we got there, they were still setting up and I only had my 50mm. By the time we were done shopping and came back, they were about to start, so it ended up being a nice opportunity to test out our new toys.
