alley and water

Today we had a horrendous downpour that lasted 10 minutes and completely flooded the alley just outside our windows. It was so bad that my roommate's room ceiling started to leak—torrentially. It was raining inside his room just as hard as outside. It was very surreal, like the monsoon scene in Jumanji. We think the apartment above us must have left their windows open, and their floor became flooded and leaked through. Luckily, my roomie was around to salvage all of his belongings before they became soaked.
